The status, awarded by The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC), demonstrates our ability to meet the complex challenges of manufacturing within the nuclear sector.

Following stringent assessment, on-site verification at our Abingdon factory, and our commitment to ongoing development and quality, we’re proud to have been granted Fit 4 Nuclear (F4N) status.

The F4N status measures our procedures against those used within the nuclear industry. It has been developed by the Nuclear AMRC and key partners to support manufacturers and other suppliers to the nuclear industry in their operations.

This follows on the back of our work with fusion energy pioneer Tokamak Energy, manufacturing a vacuum chamber for the its innovative spherical Tokamak ST40 fusion reactor prototype, and our long-standing track record in the production of MRI cryostats.

Our technical director, Edgar Rayner, said; “Achieving the Fit 4 Nuclear status is a recognition of the hard work each member of staff at LTi Metaltech does on a daily basis. Over the years, we’ve worked to implement a culture of quality and continuous development at all levels of our organisation. We’re excited about the opportunities being Fit 4 Nuclear granted will bring to us and being involved in this highly-specialised area.”

In addition to its Fit 4 Nuclear status, we also hold internationally-recognised accreditations, including being certified to ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), and BS EN ISO 1090 (CE Marking of Steel and Aluminium Structures). We also hold an AD2000 Merkblatt HP0 certification for the manufacture of pressure and vacuum vessels, issued by TUV SUD.
