To define, develop and implement robust engineering processes and systems and to ensure continuous improvement in order to optimise our manufacturing business.

  1. To define & co-ordinate robust engineering processes in order to maximise our manufacturing area.
  2. Responsibility for development of manufacturing processes in order to increase our production capabilities, achieving maximum output and efficiency.
  3. Generation and implementation of engineering solutions in order to up-scale our current processes and to take products from development to full production.
  4. Leading the application of detailed process understanding so as to design, develop and optimise manufacturing processes.

Examples of tasks supporting task 1

  • Identify opportunities and priorities for improving engineering processes.
  • Analysis of processes using various methodologies, including; process FMEA, risk assessments, POKE-YOKE.
  • Technical report to be produced, assessing current process design suitability to meet LTi production capabilities.

Examples of tasks supporting task 2

  • Assess alternatives and gain input on ideas from relevant departments.
  • Design a process to optimise manufacturing methods with consideration to process flow methods and flexibility.
  • Following consultation and agreement of proposed methods from manufacturing, design jigging and tooling associated with the above.

Examples of tasks supporting task 3

  • Develop and design processes that deliver process improvement, provide process capability and capacity to enable both volume and product variance growth.
  • Design validation protocol and agree with Manufacturing and Quality departments.
  • Validate processes and implement for volume production.

Examples of tasks supporting task 4

  • Co-ordinate implementation of processes; defining scope, assessing options and alternatives, defining solutions, full validation and implementation on time.
  • Facilitate various disciplines across the business in delivering new solutions.
